This proposal for H.C. Andersen’s House of Fairytales museum and magic garden is based on the complex structure of symbols of the writer’s fairy tales and their connections to the real world and his life. The theme of the whole museum experience is “the journey”. The journey that plays a significant role in most of his tales, and the journey he took through his entire life.
The master plan is defined as geometric concept based on H.C. Andersen’s papercuts, in which shperical shapes subtly integrate the light railway, the gardens and the exhibition facilities.
The concept of the exhibition brings the audio and visual experience of the fairy tale world into focus. On an additional virtual layer the visitors can get access to information with the use of a mobile application. During the museum visit the app mainly operates with Augmented Reality (AR).
